Reorganizing Europe’s service market

Livingston Electronic Services of Darmstadt, Germany, is growing by leaps and bounds. In its 32 years of business activity, the European market leader (according to its information) in rentals, used-equipment sales, calibration and management services of computer and test systems has gathered a customer base of more than 16,500 industrial firms. Now it announced the acquisition of two complementary vendors, both national leaders in their respective market segments: the German TechnoServ and the French Climats & Sapratin. TechnoServ offers measurement system management, audit software (including CAQ) and education in management systems. By that, Livingston will expand deeper into calibration and quality management services, with an expected market share of around 30%. Climats & Sapratin is reportedly the biggest French manufacturer (35% market share) of test equipment for industrial thermal management systems. The firm has innovated the field of climate control with its packages which allow with its built-in ethernet card for complete PC control via intranets. (ws)
