Tecnomatix, market leader in e-manufacturing solutions across the enterprise, and Orbotech, a leading vendor of AOI systems for the PCB industry, have signed a co-operation agreement to jointly develop and market innovative and comprehensive quality management software for the electronics assembly manufacturing process. This solution will combine the Tecnomatix eMPower PCB Quality product with Orbotech’s quality control package into a single manufacturing information resource. This production quality management solution will allow users to collect real-time process information from AOI systems to analyze it in terms of defects and trends indicative of current and possible future manufacturing problems. All relevant process information, including trend analyses, can then be utilized for developing corrective action in real time to increase the process efficiency on the shop floor.
