The Asys MPS100 magazine buffer has a capacity of up to 100 boards, and features five operation modes (pass-through, FIFO, LIFO, unload and load). It enables product separation due to the capability of two different conveyor widths for the loading and unloading side. The machine can also be run in a sorting or cooling mode, where boards are only released after a defined set time. The company has also developed an alternative to the existing GEM6 standard. Since GEM is too expensive to implement in small board handling systems, Asys is offering the CAN bus for that job. The software enables the customer to set-up line configurations from a database, which is covering parameters or functions such as transport width, inspection counter, run size, error log file, status message file, radio transmission of messages to a pager or cell phone, display of productivity as a percentage. Modules from third-party vendors can also be included in this system.
